Working with subfolders
All SWITCH products support reading jobs from subfolders and archiving them again in structured subfolders at the end of a flow.
This flow is compatible with: LightSWITCH, FullSWITCH, PowerSWITCH
Information
The submit hierarchy and archive hierarchy tools are used in SWITCH to work with subfolders; a submit hierarchy collects jobs from a folder and its subfolders while an archive hierarchy can be used to (re)create structured subfolders at the end of a connection.
In the example flow the "Submit Files" submit hierarchy collects all jobs from its backing folder and one extra level of subfolders. If you create a subfolder "Creator 1" and drop jobs into that folder, the jobs are collected together with the name of the subfolder they were collected from because the "Include hierarchy info" property is switched to "yes".
In its simplest form the flow can be setup so that the "Archive" archive hierarchy is instructed to create one level of subfolders. In that case the example job submitted by Creator 1 will be stored in the subfolder "Creator 1" in the backing folder of the archive hierarchy.
Regular folders in the flow (such as the "PDF" and "non-PDF" folders in the example flow) can be instructed to save hierarchy information as well. This can help to create structured subfolders in the "Archive" archive hierarchy depending on which route a file has taken through a flow.
