Prepare for web and press

This flow demonstrates how you can make 2 different PDF versions from the same PostScript file: one ready for publishing on a website and one ready to send to a printer.

This flow is compatible with: FullSWITCH, PowerSWITCH

Information

PostScript files are dropped in the Input folder and copied over the 2 connections. A prefix is added so final files can be easily recognized by name. Acrobat Distiller is used to convert the PostScript files to PDF, each Distiller element you see will use different joboptions, allowing to make 2 versions (a web ready and a press ready) of the received PostScript file.
Whenever there is a problem with the PostScript to PDF conversion, the log file is dropped into the Problem files folder. You can add the Mail Send tool to that folder to receive a notification for each problem file automatically.

Using this flow

• Download the flow and save it on your computer: download flow
• Launch one of the SWITCH products this flow is compatible with
• Use the “Flow > Import…” menu item
• In the dialog that is shown, select the flow file you just saved

The flow now appears in the flow list. You can now examine or customize it to your needs.
