Using SWITCHclient

This basic flow shows you how you can use SWITCHclient to submit files and how to use a Checkpoint in your flow.

This flow is compatible with: PowerSWITCH.

Information

"Artist 1" and "Artist 2" are submit points which allow jobs to be submitted through the SWITCHclient. Both Artist 1 and Artist 2 are users that have a SWITCHclient installed on their computer and have a connection with PowerSWITCH.

When submitting a job through SWITCHclient, the user is obligated to fill in the JobID before he/she can submit the job. Selecting the "submit" button in the SWITCHclient transfers the job to PowerSWITCH where it can continue through the flow.

The next step is a "Quality Check". This Checkpoint will put all jobs on hold and will show them in the SIWTCHclient as waiting for a manual intervention showing the Job ID in the metadata section. In this checkpoint you can choose to:

• View the job
• Get and save the job
• Decline the job
• Approve the job

When the user chooses to decline the job, the job will be moved into the "Declined" folder. Approving the job will move it into the "Approved" folder.

Using this flow.

• Download the flow and save it on your computer: download flow
• Launch PowerSWITCH
• Use the “Flow > Import…” menu item
• In the dialog that is shown, select the flow file
• Open SWITCHclient
• Setup a connection between PowerSWITCH and SWITCHclient and create the needed users

• Submit jobs through the SWITCHclient

The flow now appears in the flow list. You can now examine or customize it to your needs.
