Re-distilling PDF files

This flow retrieves files from the input folder going 5 subfolder levels deep. All PDF files are opened in Acrobat and saved as PostScript files. Afterwards these PostScript files are distilled using PDF Settings that enforce PDF 1.3 compatibility.

This flow is compatible with: FullSWITCH, PowerSWITCH.

Information

The "Submit hierarchy" tool is used to retrieve all files that are located in the "Input" folder or one of its subfolders going up to 5 subfolder levels deep.

All PDF files are opened in Acrobat and the Adobe Acrobat configurator is used to save these files as PostScript. The Adobe Acrobat Distiller configurator then distills these files using the PDF Settings "SheetSpotHiRes_1v3" which can be downloaded from www.ghentpdfworkgroup.org.

These PDF Settings will make sure that the newly created PDF files are PDF 1.3.

All files are moved to the Archive folder. The "Submit archive" tool will recreate the subfolders that were found in the "Input" folder and save the re-distilled files in their respective location again.

Using this flow

• Download the flow and save it on your computer: download flow
• Launch one of the SWITCH products this flow is compatible with
• Use the “Flow > Import…” menu item
• In the dialog that is shown, select the flow file

The flow now appears in the flow list. You can now examine or customize it to your needs.
