Preflight and impose

This example flow will first preflight all PDF files and only send the files without any problems to Impostrip, which will impose those using dynamic templates.

This flow is compatible with: FullSWITCH, PowerSWITCH.

Information

Customers can upload their PDF files to the FTP server. SWITCH will automatically detect when a file has been uploaded and will download it and hand it over to PitStop Server.

Next, PitStop Server will preflight the file with the PDF Profile that was selected on the PitStop Server configurator in SWITCH. If you want to preflight your PDF files with a different file, you can just select another profile. If a file doesn't pass the preflight check, it is saved in the not "ok folder" and the preflight report with the error messages will be saved in the "Error log" folder.

All files that pass the preflight step are handed over to Impostrip OnDemand. To be able to use the hotfolder functionality of Impostrip, you first need to set up the template in ImpoStrip and create the needed hotfolders. Afterwards you need to set the "Ok", "To printer" and "Error" folders in the SWITCH flow to the hotfolders you've linked in Impostrip.

All correctly imposed files are saved in the "To printer" folder.

Using this flow

• Download the flow and save it on your computer: download flow
• Launch one of the SWITCH products this flow is compatible with
• Use the “Flow > Import…” menu item
• In the dialog that is shown, select the flow file
• Create the dynamic template in Impostrip which you want to use for the imposition - see getting started
• Create the hotfolders in Impostrip including an input, output and error folder
• Link the "Ok", "To printer" and "Error" to the hotfolders in Impostrip
