GMG ColorProof (Microsoft Windows only)

GMG ColorProof o4 provides the most accurate way of calibrating digital inkjet proofing engines to produce digital contract color proofs, precisely matched to the printing press. The GMG ColorProof system consists of the GMG ColorEngine, GMG ProfileEditor and GMG RIPServer, as well as output modules for various printing devices. The core element is the 4-D color-transformation engine that assures the highest possible contract proof quality on a variety of output devices.

Hotfolders

Beginning with FullSWITCH you can use the "Generic Application" tool to link GMG ColorProof into SWITCH. This is possible because GMG ColorProof supports hotfolders which allow to:

• Print a proof even after optimizing color in the incoming files.
• Convert PDF files using the PDFtoPDF functionality

Using GMG ColorProof to send files to the correct proofer base on naming conventions.

  Files are automatically downloaded from an FTP server and print a correct proof using GMG ColorProof based on the file's naming convention.

• From Creator to proofer using GMG
  

  Different creators create PDF or PS files. Jaws PDF Creator converts the PS files to PDF files and callas pdfInspector is used for preflighting. Approved files are sent to a proofer using GMG ColorProof.
