Receiving Jobs
One of the most common tasks in any workflow is receiving files, all SWITCH flavors support a variety of ways to collect jobs and channel them into a flow.

More Information
FTP
The FTP receive tool automatically connects to an FTP server; it can be configured to download all jobs from the FTP server and download them to the server running SWITCH. The frequency with which the server is checked, the folder from which jobs need to be downloaded, whether subfolders need to be checked... all of that can easily be configured in the properties of the tool.
SWITCH also contains a mail receive tool that works in the same was as the FTP receive tool, but then for mail servers. You can setup an email address your customers can use to send jobs to, and SWITCH will automatically download all emails, and drop their attachments in the flow.
Hotfolders
Internally, SWITCH supports hotfolders to allow people to drop jobs into a workflow. SWITCH can remember which subfolder a job was picked up from and automatically create the same subfolder in the output folder for a flow. That allows jobs from multiple people to be processed by the same flow, but conveniently dropped in their own subfolder at the end of the flow.
Example Flows
The following flows present examples of how jobs can be received into flows:
