What's new in SWITCH 07 - Introduction

SWITCH 07 is a major upgrade for the complete SWITCH product family; it affects LightSWITCH, FullSWITCH and PowerSWITCH. Existing functionality is extended and new functionality is added. This document describes the major changes between SWITCH 06 and SWITCH 07.

The list in this document is not exhaustive; there certainly are many other smaller changes that are not listed here. The fully-functional trial versions on the web site make it possible to explore all changes at your own pace.

Upgrading to SWITCH 07

Of course it's possible to upgrade from SWITCH 06 to SWITCH 07. The upgrade is free for customers with an active maintenance contract, payable for others. Read more about upgrading to SWITCH 07 here.

Compatibility

While delivering this upgrade, we’ve strived to make it completely compatible with SWITCH 06. Flows created in SWITCH 06 are easily imported in SWITCH 07 and require no changes (there are however a number of new tools and features in SWITCH 07 that could make those flows more flexible and powerful).

This goal to preserve compatibility in the SWITCH 07 upgrade was also observed when changing the user interface and user experience. While many user experience related changes have been made, they all fit in easily in what a user of SWITCH 06 already knows and is used to.
