Gradual Software and Trigono Denmark ApS offer special promotion bundling SWITCH and Enfocus PitStop Server

Complementary software packages deliver the ideal preflighting solution for timesavings and error-free workflows

Ghent (Belgium), March, 2007 — Gradual Software, specialists in software solutions for automating the publishing process, and Trigono Denmark ApS, Gradual's distributor in Denmark, will combine forces in a promotional campaign for all registered PitStop Server 3 users in the Danish market. The special software bundle will feature Enfocus' PitStop Server 4.01 and Gradual's SWITCH products to effectively automate the preflighting and PDF certifying process in large prepress workflows.

Peter Gersmann, business development manager at Trigono, explains that combining both products results in a win-win situation for print customers: “Enfocus PitStop Server offers fantastic control and certification features, but it does not provide any automated workflow functionality. Gradual’s SWITCH solution is an ideal match, because it enables users to fully automate the entire prepress workflow.  Automation considerably eases administration of the workflow process while supporting load balancing for high performance and stability within the prepress department. This unique combination of control and automation tools provides the end user with a perfect prepress workflow solution.”

The software bundle provides an effective solution for eliminating error reduction – a crucial issue in the printing industry. “Fully automated workflows are critical for magazine and newspapers printers.  A typical error, such as failure to verify incoming PDF-files, can result in blank pages in the printed magazine – a real nightmare for the printer. Manual intervention at the different stages in the workflow could result in human errors," says Gersmann. "Enfocus PitStop Server’s reliable and advanced preflighting and correction modules, combined with SWITCH’s automation features, offer a "best of breed" solution to solve these problems and automate all or part of a workflow. The user can be sure that errors are detected, reported and corrected. This control reliability, along with the speed and time savings provided by automation, make it much easier for our customers to meet increasingly demanding deadlines.”

The easy-to-use, visual aspect of SWITCH is another important product benefit. “The user is able to set up and visualize the workflow, link and regulate the different applications easily and transparently, from within one single application. Automation increases the job throughput considerably and more importantly, it decreases the stress factor for the user, resulting in more job satisfaction and productivity," concludes Peter Gersmann.

Enfocus PitStop Server and Gradual SWITCH, perfect complementary packages

PitStop Server and SWITCH perform seamlessly in an automated workflow, and PitStop Server can be completely configured and operated from within the SWITCH application. The creation and control of hot folders is practically effortless, thanks to the user-friendliness and ease of use of the SWITCH-interface. Preprogrammed options within SWITCH guarantee a smooth workflow and eliminate the need for manual interventions within the PitStop Server.

The use of Enfocus PitStop Server in combination with SWITCH makes it extremely easy to include all of the advanced preflight, correction and Certified PDF capabilities of PitStop Server in a larger automated workflow. In an easy drag-and-drop fashion, workflows can be constructed that retrieve files from FTP sites, distill them into PDF format as needed, and preflight them. If a problem with a file is detected, the email tools in SWITCH can notify a production manager, customer representative, as well as the customer, of exactly what is wrong.

SWITCH adds another critically important feature to workflows: files from different customers can be processed through one workflow but then automatically archived in customer folders. This key functionality rests in the capability of SWITCH to keep track of where it retrieves files and to dynamically create folder hierarchies on an archive disk or an FTP server.

Promotional campaign

The promotion prices will vary per bundle:

  • FullSWITCH + PS4 upgrade: 2750€
  • PowerSWITCH + PS4 upgrade: 5000€

This special promotion is only valid for officially registered PitStop Server 3.x users and ends on May 31, 2007.
