Gradual Software Announces New UK Distributor
Ghent (Belgium), February 22, 2006 — Gradual Software, specialists in software solutions for automating the publishing process, announced today that the company has appointed Positive Focus to distribute their full range of software solutions in the UK and Ireland. The product range consisting initially of CaslonFlow will expand to the newly announced SWITCH range, which offers cross platform, Mac OS X and PC compatibility and enhanced feature sets. Positive Focus will offer upgrade and migration routes to the new products, and is actively cooperating with other software and hardware providers to construct relevant bundles, to be announced at IPEX.
IPEX 2006 will provide the first public viewing of Gradual Software’s SWITCH range. In depth demonstrations of LightSWITCH, the entry level, file movement, filtering and management solution - as well as FullSWITCH - will be held daily in the presentation theatre on the Positive Focus stand D45 in Hall 20.
Gradual Software’s Director of Sales, Saskia Desmet says, “The Positive Focus distributorship in the UK is a perfect fit for our product portfolio. We have developed the SWITCH range as a logical next step up from our current automation product CaslonFlow. The SWITCH products are cross-platform and introduce many new features tailored at people’s exact needs. Positive Focus has the right mindset and invaluable drive to bring these exciting new products to the UK marketplace.
Commenting on the agreement, Ivor Dixon, Managing Director of Positive Focus announced, “This is an exciting addition to the range of options we can offer. Now we have a viable Mac OS solution, running on both G5 processors and the new Intel based Macs. Users can glue together the desktop solutions they already know and use into a productive, automated workflow. Gradual Software has shown they are serious contenders in this market, with the substantial improvements they have already made to the CaslonFlow product. The SWITCH range is a logical move forward, adding Mac compatibility and an entry level solution for those people who just need to move files around, avoiding the chore of doing it manually. I think most people will be able to justify LightSWITCH on the time saving alone, paying back the cost in a couple of months.’
LightSWITCH will cost £549 and FullSWITCH £1,799. CaslonFlow users, or anyone purchasing CaslonFlow at £1,449 now, can upgrade to FullSWITCH for just £220. There will be a no-penalty upgrade from LightSWITCH to FullSWITCH by paying the difference in price. A more advanced product called PowerSWITCH will introduce scripting and metadata support and introduce workgroup features. PowerSWITCH will be announced during IPEX and is expected to release during the summer of 2006.
To be kept up to date on the availability of the SWITCH range, contact Positive Focus on 08456 120 246, or at sales@positivefocus.co.uk. IPEX visitors can see the products demonstrated on Stand 20-D45 or in the Drupa Innovation Pavilion 07-B50.
